Scholarship & Grants
Karen Kaiser Scholarship: Karen Kaiser was a special education teacher in the East Rutherford Public Schools. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rutherford, serving several terms as a deacon, and for many years as a member of the Chancel Choir. She retired to Lancaster, Pennsylvania and died in 2008. In her memory, The First Presbyterian Church of Rutherford sponsors a $1000 scholarship to a student who plans to major/minor in Education, Special Education, or Music. One scholarship will be awarded to a Rutherford High School Student, and one will be awarded to a Becton Regional High School Student.

Deacon Grant: The Board of Deacons of the FPC of Rutherford will offer grants to any organization that supports our local communities in their goals to bring relief and comfort to those in need.
Grant Guidelines: Applications for grants will be accepted on a first come basis to ensure that grants are not being duplicated from competing organizations. Each organization may submit one grant request per year. Applicants will be notified by the Deacon Board within a timely manner so the grant may be utilized expeditiously. All applications will be thoughtfully reviewed and discussed. All grant amounts will be determined by the FPC Board of Deacons based on funds available, perceived community need, church involvement, number of applications received, and any other special conditions.
